Thank you for your interest in our website. The protection of your privacy is very important to us. Below we inform you in detail about how we handle your data.

When processing your data, we comply with the provisions of the DSGVO and the Austrian Data Protection Act.

1. Introduction


You can visit our website without providing any personal information. When you access the website, only access data in so-called server log files, such as the name of the requested file, date and time of access, amount of data transferred, access status & IP address of the requesting computer are stored.

These data are evaluated exclusively to ensure trouble-free operation of the site and to improve our offer and do not allow us to draw any conclusions about your person.

After evaluation of the annual accesses, the data logged in this way is deleted. The evaluation takes place monthly and annually, the deletion takes place automatically after 12 months in each case.

2. data collection for contract fulfillment

Dr.Owl collects your personal data only if you have given them to us voluntarily via the website. This is done in the context of ordering goods via our website, opening your user account, contacting us (e.g. by e-mail, live chat...) or registering for the Dr.Owl newsletter.

Which data is collected can be seen from the respective input forms. We use the data you provide exclusively for contract processing and handling your inquiries. After final answering of your inquiry, complete processing of the contract or deletion of your customer account, your data will be blocked for further use and deleted after expiration of the retention periods required by tax and commercial law. Something else only applies if you have expressly consented to further use of your data or if we reserve the right to use data beyond this, which is permitted by law and about which we inform you below. The deletion of your customer account is possible at any time and can be done either by sending a message to office[at]dr-owl.com.

2.1. Ordering goods

In order to place an order for goods, you must enter the following personal data in an input form:

Dr.Owl stores these data in a database and uses them exclusively for individual communication with you or for execution of the contract concluded with you. This includes the initiation, conclusion and execution of the contract, warranty agendas as well as possible reversal of the service. Your data will only be stored until the contractually owed service has been completely processed. As far as company and tax law retention periods exist, the duration of storage can be up to 7 years.

2.2. Payment & Shipping
For the fulfillment of the contract, we pass on your data to the shipping company commissioned with the delivery, insofar as this is necessary for the delivery of ordered goods. For the processing of payments we pass on the necessary payment data to the credit institution commissioned with the payment and, if applicable, to payment service providers commissioned by us or to the payment service selected by you in the order process.

Furthermore, Dr.Owl transfers your customer data to collection agencies in case of assignment of outstanding debts as well as authorized third parties (authorities or courts), if this is necessary due to legal regulations for the prevention of dangers to public safety and order or if Dr.Owl is legally obligated to transfer data to law enforcement or supervisory authorities.

2.2.1. Card Payment

In the area of card payment (direct debit/girocard/credit cards), we work together with Concardis GmbH (Concardis), Helfmann Park 7, D-65760 Eschborn, represented by its managing directors Mark Freese, Jens Mahlke and Luca Zanotti.

In this context, in addition to the purchase amount and date, card data will also be transmitted to the above-mentioned company. All payment data as well as data on any chargebacks that may occur will only be stored as long as they are required for payment processing (including the processing of possible chargebacks and debt collection) and for combating abuse. As a rule, the data is deleted no later than 13 months after it is collected.

Beyond this, further storage may take place if and as long as this is necessary to comply with a statutory retention period or to prosecute a specific case of abuse. The legal basis for data processing is Art. 6 (1) f) of the General Data Protection Regulation.

You can request information and, if necessary, correction or deletion as well as restriction of the processing of your data and/or, if necessary, object to the processing of your data. Furthermore, you have the right to complain to a supervisory authority (in Germany to the state data protection commissioners). We would like to point out that the provision of payment data is neither legally nor contractually required. If you do not want to provide your payment data, you can use another payment method (e.g. cash payment).

2.2.2. Paypal

The Paypal payment method is handled by PayPal (Europe) S.à r.l. & Cie, S.C.A., 5th floor, 22-24 Boulevard Royal, L-2449 Luxembourg. More detailed information can be found in the privacy policy of Paypal.

2.2.3. Instant bank transfer

2.3. User account
When you create a user account, Dr.Owl stores all the data you provide (title, first name, last name, e-mail address, birthday and password). Dr.Owl uses this data to enable you to store in Dr.Owl's webshop, to manage your orders and to communicate with you.

When you place an order as a registered user, Dr.Owl stores all the data you provide when placing an order (user account date, order date, goods, purchase price, payment method, delivery method, billing address, shipping address). With these data Dr.Owl will execute your order.

The details of the orders will be saved to your user account and will remain available for you later. If you choose the "Proceed to checkout as a guest" function, your order will not be saved to your user account. Therefore, in this case, you will not be able to retrieve your orders subsequently.

The deletion of your customer account is possible at any time and can be done by sending a message to office@dr-owl.com.

4. Use of analytical and marketing tools

4.1. Google Tag Manager

To manage the services for usage-based advertising, we use the Google Tag Manager. The Tag Manager tool itself is a cookie-less domain and does not collect any personal data. Rather, the tool provides for the triggering of other tags that collect data (see the following points below). If you have deactivated at the domain or cookie level, this remains in place for all tracking tags implemented with Google Tag Manager.

 

4.2. Google Analytics

4.3. Google Adwords
This website is connected to the online advertising program "Google AdWords" of Google Inc. (www.google.com). 4.4. Google Remarketing
We use Google Adwords to advertise the Dr.Owl website in Google search results and on third-party websites. Insofar as you have given us your consent for this in accordance with Art. 6 para. 1 p. 1 lit. a DSGVO, the so-called remarketing cookie is set by Google when you visit our website, which automatically enables interest-based advertising by means of a pseudonymous CookieID and on the basis of the pages you have visited. The data collected in this way is anonymous to us & cannot be attributed to any individual user. However, this data is stored and processed by Facebook. 4.6. Facebook Remarketing
